Tip toe thru the tulips of time

Do you just ever wonder?
What it was like waking up and finding yourself back in the glamour days.  When Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra were of this world.

You dress up
or you didn't go out!  Back in the time when ladies had to be ladies, and fellows were gentlemen around the ladies.  It is such a bygone time, don't you just wonder what it would be like?

Gloves and hats
Were just important as the gown, dress or outfit that were defined by clip on earrings, that you can't give away in garage sales now.

A pinch of this and a pinch of that
If you didn't behave in church, or were moving around restlessly, you could find yourself pinched.  The almighty pinch was worse than a dirty look or a raised voice.  Back in the time, when you didn't have the belt as much as parents of parents, today, want to think.

A generation's generation
who champion manners, a lost grace in a large part of our society.  We were suppose to be scarce between dinner and sun down.  This was the best time of the year.  Right now.

Red rover, red rover
We thought we were pretty smart then, not unlike our own children do.  The sneakiness was different in those times.  When we scattered at the last beloved 30 minutes before the sun was starting to fade.  Grabbing hands, laughing loudly, as we ran through the throng of neighbourhood kids to evade being caught and having instead to do the catching.

The rules relaxed
When there was fun to be had.  The parents slowly stepping off stoops, starting out to call their children indoors.  Instead, assembling, smiling at each other, parents in the Good Parent Club as we bought a few extra minutes of outside time because no one parent would want to be the first to disrupt such a marvelous coming together of children, kids, having fun.

We weren't sure, nor did we care.  We were so caught up in the moment, of laughing, running, catching those last glimpse of the sun.

When a neighbourhood BBQ or a gathering of friends and family, usually meant, we could be out playing in the street lights, with the hustle of dancing, by parents, with neighbours, friends, sisters.

The spirit of the moment
Where being together was the most important event of the day.  Often happening.  Looking back I never thought we took anything for granted.

A harmony of spirit
A collection of the brave, who faced challenges but never beating down us.  We were outside, we celebrated summer like a gift that would never be returned.  Because it was the thought, the caring, that was the biggest present of all.

The expectation of a gathering
was never far, always dear.  Not unusual.  Often ever near.  After church, long weekends, or simply a mere assembly of those that live near.

Hats and gloves
I would squirm through just to return to those bygone days.  Take the time to embrace it.  Hold it even more dear.

A one day and only day
You never really knew.  Until you grew older, the magic that you lived through.  Blessed and remarkable, even though challenges were plowed through.

Creating a memory
that you would love to return to.  Accompanied by your children and loved ones to know what you knew.  Experience the wonder of feeling special to tip toe the tulips of time.

The STATS attack!

You can't hardly call yourself a "social media enthusiast" if you don't know how to get into the "stats ATTACK".

A stats ATTACK is when you start caring about how many likes, retweets, shares you get.  Actually, paying attention to what seems to appeal to people who follow you.  Then carefully observe how they handle themselves:

  • * classy
  • * informative
  • * intellectual
  • * stylish
  • * branded
  • * poise

If you're a gal, I am going to suggest you go with a pink and black theme.  Those are the two colors that mean feminine yet strong.    In fact, after I'm done this blog commentary, I am going to redesign my optioneerJM blog.  Use those colors, have graphics that compliment this new energy.  That is so exciting!!

Then, I will go jump over to MeanderingsABOUT to update to my new colors, like a logo or an illustration, except just with a color combination that can immediately identify me in a flash.  Vibrant colors that at one point seem to crash then bounce off each other causing vibrations.  Notifications.  Identifications.  Notoreity.

Experiential Evidence
I did an experiment tonight.  As you all know.  For the past two years, I have used this blog as an experiment.  Of sorts.  To test crazy ideas (remember seeing if I could tempt anyone to buy my social media personality for a fee, by bid process only.  Which I will send out the offer again.  NOW.  If you want to buy a ready made up, 72% KLOUT SCORE, Top 1% KRED, 18,000 followers on TWITTER, 500 of the finestly cultivated group of followers, supporters and exhillirators in knowledge, authority on all subject matters related to relationship selling, social media community creation, cultured CONTENT curators (think imagery, artistry, sculptures, greenery, elegant interiors, motivating quotes with awe-inspiring graphics, fonts, everything together.   If you want to buy this name for your own social media blitz, it's for sale.  optioneerJM is a pretty ambiguous name that could be adopted for a clever, a cause, a choice,  campaign or cosmic reach of the universe.  A brand that doesn't promote hate, violence, greed, or fame.  Where only the people decide what is the #bestofeverything simply by promoting, adopting and using this hashtag everywhere, so one of my other experiments is to test whether if one were to promote one #hashtag called #bestofeverything on every social media giant or platform, would it hook together to rise to the top search on google, register on Facebook, and be on everyone's moments on Twitter.  Why not have a trending hashtag that is voted on the people, where no machines or automation can steer the results, where only the top of the best of the best of #everything dominate the peak.

Collaboration Nation
So the experiment is whether this group that was included in this Facebook post would notice, come read this blog, or jump on the bandwagon of fun.  Learning together, collaborating together, and determining the outcome of this experiment.  I can report on findings as I start to track and check to see what people are liking these days.  Kind of an ad hoc experiment within the experiment:: what are people really paying attention to across all the viral campaigns.

Fan Favorites
The people I like the most are the most personable.  They may touch on some mighty influencial fan favorites, but those fan favorites are not in this group.  Because they either didn't respond to me as much as others.

Favorite picture of the month, if not year. Breathtaking, haunting, with just a hint of the red faded, enveloped into the rust. Thank you immensely Tim Fargo for sharing this brilliant image. Unfortunately, the artist photographer who created it is faded on the left and should have greater acclaim and recognition. Try this: Send it out as a tweet: " #bestofeverything photography artist @________(the name) OptioneerJM @optioneerJM #RT with the image attached. Then, share on your own Facebook Post with the same paragraph with image, sharing with all of your followers. If I'm not mistaken, this group will rise in KLOUT + KRED + PEERINDEX +Quora influence metrics, because I have hand picked some very under recognized social media and personality plus WHIZ peers. We're not an actor, creative, musician, media personality, professionals. We're professional creatively minded and musically in tuned group of personalities. Sharing inspirational images, quotes, thoughts, leadership, humanitarian, creative, beautiful messages, wisdom, writing, tweets, posts, bios.

#bestofeverything TWITTER #bestofeverything FACEBOOK #bestofeverything G+

Testing, testing ... one, two three
I want to firstly test who responds the quickest, what they respond to, and whether they actually read my post and follow the instructions:  to follow/friend all the "FRIENDS" I've included on the list.  Then reshare it (because when you add someone and follow it immediately with a #RT or share of something they've posted or you include their name, you've increased the likelihood of about 90% that they will follow you back, but not only that, pay attention to what you post.  Not merely a flittering registration among the clutter of a lot of pots and pans, drums or thimbles fall into the background with their noise.  Then the group will create posts, including @optioneerJM and #bestofeverything adopted as their own approval stamp.

I apologize if

I included you and you haven't experienced the

fierce force of connecting with really smart

people. They are also extremely talented on

social networking, standing out on top of heaps

weaker fame measurement of TV, Movies,

Radio, the Media en masse :: people who are

brilliant and stand out, catch this wave, and take

it for a wile ride. If you add all these people, then

share this post, adding comments as who you

Now, it is finally time to get off this writing and

get on to creating.  So much love and adoration.

a read for THE PRETTY GIRLS by @KarinSlaughter

(a reading aficionado by Jeannette Marshall)

Escapism at its finest
Author Karin Slaughter nailed it, hit it outta the park with "The Pretty Girls".  (Please comment here if you represent
@KarinSlaughter to pay $1000 to put the cover image and an excerpt here).

Won't put it down
You ever read those kind of reviews long ago with Stephen King, J.K.Rowling, Michael Connelly?  Remember how the reviewer always said: "A book that you can't put down" or "you will stay up late to want to read this one".  Well, this book is just like one of those.  I'm an avid reader, and known for having a vast collection of reading interests.  Like any drug, it loses its potency the more you absorb it.

Reading Aficionado
I like the idea of becoming a reading aficionado.  I'm creating a new term just now, without a notion whether there is such a thing or if anyone else has named themselves as a reading aficionado.  Like purveyors of fine wine for the ladies or cigars for the gents.

An uncommon voice
I wanna be recognized and renowned for my easy picks on books, reading, movies, blogs, beauty, fashion or style.  Someone who is in beat with the vibe from social media energy.  Do you wanna listen to music? (and hear my top picks?).  The goal is to appraise and cultivate opinion that represents the majority who have been given a voice.

"Life is a journey of learning and gaining knowledge" ~Jeannette Marshall

Play havoc with your imagination
Were you considering escape for a few hours to indulge in a fantasy created by gifted writers who played havoc with your imagination?  You see crisp correlation between the description and your own creative mind.

Holding true as a mental energist
People can gravitate towards you like being out in the far galaxial universe and shooting stars blasting like fireworks all around us without any footing or move-ment, floating, at peace with themselves, their surroundings.  Not wanting something they cannot or should not have, whether by wisdom or self-discipline halted swiftly, skipping over.

Internet interests and vibe
You are going to see someone who can catch the direction of the energy from being in tune with communications around the world on social media.

On a cloud of inspiration
Where musical taste speaks to decades of generations floating from one to the next, on a cloud of inspiration from true gifted, musical talent.  Or, some events related to music captures EVERYone :: remember Susan Boyle?
Mother's Day, 2014.

Fun new APPS 4 SoMe::Social Media
The hunt and discovery is three quarters of the fun!  It will be on the fashionista - not techie radar - favorites because it catches the energy from the Post Boomers Pre-GEN-Xers 50s crowd (dubbed InBETWEENers wordpress demographic blog), tracing the virals before they start their upward spike, setting the pace and tone for the 20s Millennial crowd.  I'll share only the coolest (if I can do it, anybody can do it) games for the more intellectual crowd, imagineers, creative, visionaries.

An adventure together
That you can share with me.  You can act as the thermometer of anything by using the hashtag #bestofeverything .  Where only those seeking the best, the premium, the ultra anything will gravitate towards.   Time can be lonely, and when caring and sharing reaches so far to make our world a better place.  I hope it is these type of people that end up on here, once maybe, subscribe certainly.

Commenting optional
Since I rarely, if ever, get comments, I am going to say, don't bother since my driving desire was to be able to respond, engage, learn from my readers and viewers what resonates deep within them or make them want to avoid it like the plague.

Intellectual Engagement
Where I will reply as often and as honestly as possible.  Uncover what makes me tick, since I may be the clock that is ticking thru time, jumping energetic mental outlook that is not anything like ADD (attention deficit disorder) even if some who can't keep up, do declare it is, in fact ADD.  (Keep on the lookout because those critics are just jealous they never thought of it before).  Kinda like a one-person MASHABLE.

MASHABLE

Embrace Friday the 13th as if it means only the #bestofeverything

Yes, you got it :: today is Friday the 13th and you had better not have been belly aching about bad luck, this or that.  Have a listen to this swan song that came out in 1980 from the Talking Heads that pokes fun and demystifies complaining and inspires us to get a move on if we want what we want:

Once in a lifetime
Is pretty startling.  It is a resonating message that today, May 13, 2016, is once in a lifetime.  You will not have another chance to relive it.  So make it worth a story worth telling.

I was fiddling around with my camera app on my laptop and decided to ignore it and just get down to writing, darn it.

I am all showered and made up to head out and meet my husband as we drop our inherited car off to have new tires put on.

Inherited?  Well, it's part of the 50s inheritance plan :: It's when you cosign a car loan and your daughter decides to head out to make her mark in the world, leaving you with the loan so you start driving it.

Now you may get the reason why I have the gadget to the right with cars called "Pump this ride".  It is my expressive rebellion on taking responsibility over want.

I realized that I really don't post many pictures of myself so I did a couple of selfies to show that I'm not short on attitude, just in height.

My husband is already texting me to see if I've left - we're meeting in an hour and 15 for darn's sake - my way of gaining control over my life is being late more often than not.  That's from a gal who was meticulous about being on time, so much so that I was always 20 minutes early for everything and had to fight the boredom of waiting.

So I'll write about the favorite makeup used today later on.  The texts are coming speedily and if I want to meet my husband after work again, I'd better disprove his "always late" label for me (which wouldn't be far from the truth).

Remember to make today, your BEST day ever!!

the dance of gratitude

Isn't this so true?
For me it is  relying on a calculator. I force myself to do long hand arithmetic we were taught in our

earliest school years, just after forming the art of

 handwriting instead of printing.

A week ago, I received a handwritten card with a

lovely note from a lady I spent time with at the

MAC counter at Nordstrom at Chinook Center

(Calgary).  She recalled a few of the major points

we discussed and how I inspired her.   She said

nothing self-promotional nor about any

upcoming events or sale.  Beautiful.  Wonderful.

Thank you notes

Is a basic skill that I know of only one person in

my sphere who does this constantly.  Every time

you receive it you feel special, when you read it

you glow.

Why don't we do more of that?

We already know how much joy it can bring yet

we don't get around to doing it.   I think I am

going to try to do something along that line.

I have a package of notecards

which I could put to great use.  I am a lot like

everyone out there.  I get busy with work, my

off-time is spent writing here, and of course

spending time with hubby and family.

Events like Mother's Day allow

us the opportunity to call and send a card,

sometimes even send flowers or a gift.  I know

my mom isn't picky, and chatting on the phone

to her is one of her favorites.

We seldom pick up the phone

without a purpose in mind:  inviting someone

somewhere, following up an email, confirming

an invitation.

What about the none times?

Writing a brief note, saying you were thinking of

someone, crediting them with a memory you

just thought of or simply to say you were think-

ing of them.

How about that?

No event, no reason, no RSVP, no invitation, no

specific thank you.

Just to say hi!

A brief note, a thought is what I want to do.

There are more than the dozen my card supply

has, that I would just like to say "how goes it?"

What about an email you say?

The reason I'm not going to send an email is

because it is to say hello.  Nothing else.  No

response required.  Maybe they'll stand it up

on their desk in their office as an emblem of

gratitude.  For me to have memories shared

with them.  For them to see how important

they are.

I already send Holiday cards

I used to be one of the first to have my cards

written, addressed, stamped and out the door at

the end of November, plenty of time for the

holidays.

Tit-for-tat

Makes me wonder how many have scaled back

sending greeting cards altogether?  Sending an

email instead?  Yeah, right, those little inboxes

that only remind us of work, duty, and too many

we barely stop to read as we glance through the

subject line.

No cheating allowed

If you are going to go ahead and do this, you are

forbidden to write a family chronicle newsy

copied letter that you slip in.  That is not the

point.

No event reminder

You are simply going to buy a dozen or six (how-

ever many the package includes) and send an

individualized, personalized note to a few some-

ones whom you would like to know they're

important, you're thinking of them.

You just want to make their day

and may end up making your own for days to

come.  Passing on kindness, gratefulness and

friendship has little to no cost.

Don't keep track of how many you send

versus how many respond (like some may do

from greeting cards).

Pay it forward, the old way

is what some may say.  That's fine if you need to

label it or accuse me of recommending some-

thing ageless as time.  That's not the point.

I already know of a few whom I will

send one to (for examples):

* to our bank manager who worked with us who

changed our mortgage payment date that is so

   much easier to track.

* a new dental office that gave me the greatest

service with a gentle dentist who I will return to

Those are only a couple but I hope you get my drift.  Send a card with a note to brighten someone else's day and it just may give you some rejuvenation and
good-hearted spirit as your reward.

I have used images of dance from my Pinterest board Dancereta to share their beauty with you.
