Salutations, congratulations and support nation on Linked In

Now where can you brag about your career?

Promote your favorite cheer, quote or motivational image where it is welcome?

Where can some of your first followers, literally strangers, were drawn to connect with each other, to cheer em on hang out?

I think you may have guessed by now, I'm talking about Linked In.

Ahem, sorry about those bright lights up stairs, above here.  I just am continuously astounded by the great things that come out of Linked In.  As with fine wine, only appreciating more gracefully each year ... ahem, drifted off to midnight passing and my new year officially here.

Salutations and congratulations Paul ~impressive!  I'm a big fan of data since "back in the day" selling clicks and at the forefront of the cloud with document management and storage.  If you ever need someone who can speak to that topic, I'd be keen from the perspective of how I had to evolve from selling printed dots made first by ink, then toner to carving down quantities, producing more relavancy and using globalization to have on hand.  Think security information from Calgary to New York, Toronto generated by London UK.  Sorry, I got carried away thinking I was writing another blog ......

Of which here I am.  Again.  Making a point.  Connecting with people is one third of the value from Linked In.  I can expand on the other things.  I just wanted to ask those questions and use an example of my own experiment of intertwining a personalized, customized message, based on the new connection (this being a VP of Data for a Fortune 500 corporation).

If you are going to network anywhere.  Don't over think it too much.  Be the person that everyone wants to be around, will tend to remember, and even better reach out with a problem that needed solving.

Don't let me get carried away (I am all of a sudden starting to reconsider what I have said as joking in manner that I have Attention Deficit Disorder when I'm online).  When in fact, coming online is like putting a wannabe race car driver into a Porsche or Ferrarri (yes, I'd even let BMW give me a few bucks to edit out the other two and put their logo or luxury model picture here for a fee).  One of these days, someone WILL catch on and actually pay me for inserting their logo and an considering an image, dependent upon receipt of funds.

It's a brave new world
The biggest employment bubble is spent online.  Either creating conversations, interacting, writing, blogging, artistic expression, motivation, addictions, infliction, improvement, knowledge to be had for the taking by those curious enough to reach out.  Experiment a little.  Find your voice.

Explore the many passions
Just being discovered.  A childlike curiosity and appreciation of wonder exudes from your pores.  Just remember that your message may be bang on, your audience just hasn't caught on.  It doesn't mean it won't.  It may mean change it up, a bit.

Be patient
Because anyone who is worth anything will never say they got to where they are over night.  Only unrealistic movies, which artistic communicators of dreams or drama made from fantasy, far beyond fact.

Uphold your integrity
as the greatest value you bring.  Your word, your loyalty and your honesty are emblems of who you represent.  Stay away from anyone who makes you uneasy or likes to crumble your dignity.

Be aware of wolves in sheep clothes
without gender a factor.  The behavior being the same, the approaches likely different.

Be a cheerleader
for those whom you've aligned yourself with the talented.  Be so happy for their success and raising star without worrying about hitching on it but waiting for your own.

Do not cheat on others
is much larger than a spouse.  Your friends, your family, your parents, your friends, your colleagues deserve your respect.  Do not take their ideas and make them as your own, without revealing their anonymity to guard their privacy.

Don't withhold your wisdom
because to share expands into greater wisdom.  What did others learn from.  What did you hear murmuring of acknowledgement.

Don't shout from the rooftops
unless a bitter, capitalizing scamster, annoying buzz to sound over the noise your reputation to have and to hold on to dearly, oblivious to whether anyone is listening, just relief from your rant you'll be.  Sometimes causing damage, if nothing at least the reputation as a whiner or perpetual complainer is what you want to be known as.

It is the soundness of posture
and clearness in vision from others  proclaim.  You can do it if you love it and are passionate about or want to learn more about and have a common refrain.  Whether that is by post, by quote or image of artistic creation expounds, be known for a goodness or a quality with honesty to build trust.

a nice reflection REFLECTION

IMAGE SOURCE << CLICK here <<
FAVIM.com is a great site to check out if you have a creative eye

The following blog was originally written and posted on my "A Commentary" blog (without the lead in image above, I added that now).

I was reviewing what I had written and realized it is something that I usually cover in MEANDERINGSabout blog.

Here you go loyal followers and subscribers .....

I tend to go on about stats and such on my optioneerJM blog since that is where the conversation about social media or soME seems to have some traction.  I really started out there writing about sales primarily, then shifted to include leadership and business with social media dialogue emerging frequently.

That's a tough position to be in because your golden followers, the ones who began the journey with you deserve and have earned your return loyalty and acknowledgement.

The strange part of me is I constantly seek feedback online from trusted advisors, and I can take it.  However, if it is someone looking at me, with eye contact and giving me feedback, if it isn't filtered with empathy and professionalism, I can feel attacked.

Writing to the loyal followers is paramount to a business or a blog.  That's a mutual reward for sticking around together.  And as the object of that feedback, you take it more positively because they've grown to know you over a few years at least.  They aren't adding their own ingredients of bias into the equation.  People feel threatened if they recognize an element of your personality that they internally, personally feel that you lack.  That can make things get rubbed the wrong way.

To be told by a senior manager, that "people feel threatened by you" is something a person has to grapple with and grasp.  I don't think any one individual person consciously thinks they're a bad person.  The bad aren't even in your sphere because they know they're bad and proud of it.

Let's take how a woman dresses.  It shouldn't be a key factor in this day and age but it is.  You can be both the victim and the judge at the same time.  I am a clothes horse, even call myself a "fashionista" with the more humbling affiliation that I'm "fighting my 50s" so as to remove ego when is not there.

RELAXED to the MAX
No dress code does not mean you look like you will
jump into bed when you get home

How a person dresses, in my opinion, reflects to the world a statement:  "this is how I feel about myself".  You can relate even better when you think about when you are sick with a cold, a nose so raw and red from blowing it.  You feel lousy and look it.  You underscore how you are feeling with a ballgown?  Hardly, more likely the biggest, loosest flannel PJ bottoms, fluffiest slippers or lumberjack grey socks and a rebel Tshirt you wouldn't be caught grocery shopping in!  That's my point.  I agree that Hollywood and movies often portray the really efficient, bitchy boss dressed in a suit with not a hair out of place, so polished and poised.

I don't intimidate people by how I act, it is their preconceived notions before I've even opened my mouth.  Which can be annoyingly long-winded.  You won't walk away without replaying it or thinking about it again.

DRESS YOUR AGE:
This works well on the sprite that she is
yet it would look dreadful on me:  5 ft and 55

My talkative, gregarious nature doesn't tee up with a suit.  It should be more Bohemian in style and mannerism shouldn't I?

My point today being that we should not evaluate and file anyone away or into a category based on a 5 second visual.  You are short changing yourself from what could be a great adventure, exchange of wits, a few laughs.  That is one of the main attractions of social media:  your voice is translated via keys communicating in such a way and in an acceptable manner that you listen to the person, you observe the message.  In its nakedness, you make your judgement, evaluation, and determination to join that person's ranks.  A photo or visual is after the fact.  What is appealing is that communications style that others gravitate towards while others with bias refuse to get to know them because of that first 5 seconds.  With social media, it may only be 1 or 2 seconds, but the benefits are far reaching, the risk obsolete, the ability to control (block, unfollow, ignore) your environment online is much more peaceful than anywhere else.

MY KIND OF FASHION Fall 2016

My kinda fashion for "Business Casual" or "Casual Friday" Looks.  Really comfortable with the jacket off, yet the jacket is there to ward off the chills OR attend that last minute meeting scheduled.

Although this was sourced as a PLUS fashion, the lines and curves packaged professionally is bang on with this look!  It compliments a figure with or without curves.  In either case, it is not bashful or hides the fact that you are a woman.  In fact, where it to the next All Boys meeting you attend to visually communicate that yes, you are a woman, and your ideas will add value.
Polished+Professional+Poised
Classic look, nice cut lines, tailored look.
A great look for a job interview or a performance review

If you want to add volume where others have curves
this would be a great look for someone slim or tall
I wouldn't recommend this if you're curvy
or plus size as it will add weight where you don't want it.
BUSTED:
The shoes say "I'm going clubbing at lunchtime"
 while the suit conveys professionalism
They are in conflict with each other.

Lil bit of attitude

"Oh, my, this one has attitude!" exclamed the delivery nurse.  Who may have been saying "here's another one" to the tired, adrenaline-rushed parents of this newborn creation ..... of theirs.

A mixture of disbelief and amazement as this gaze upon this near perfect little human girl.  Minutes from being in a warm, comfortable womb.  Indignant at the harsh introduction she hadn't anticipated she let out a howl.

This little beauty grew and grew:  and sang "take me out to the Ball Game" at a mere 16 months.  As a party favor, she blasted through the adults polite conversation, as their jaws dropped and gaped open at a special experience unfolded.  Discussion began.  How amazing is it that a little burst of energy could sing to the rafters, in such abandon, glorying in the musical flutes her own tonsils gave. Oblivious to the expressions of anyone around her.  She liked bursting out and singing.  Her abandon to anything akin to self-conscious expression.  The audience crossed between envy and awe.  How could such a little thing stand up, be so proud, and sing with such abandon?  At ONLY 16 months.

The parents who were always ready with a video camera were stunned into inaction.  The musical notes combined with gusto and self-exuberance.  How could they have created such a ... umm... creature?  Alas, it was a daughter.  They should have had their seat belts tightened.  Yet they didn't do anything. Why should they?  They weren't puppeteers, merely creators.

They wondered, however, how can they take credit for such a beauty with such a powerful voice?

As the little girl developed and continued to grow became as ever a sight to behold.  At 2, this confident, clever,  creation would insist that she was a princess.  Her hard-working mother and father fascinated, would wonder:  how could a princess be born and insist she was one.  They  were, although not average folk, wondered how they could be responsible for this envisioned little lady?

Then, one day, when the father was away at work, slagging dragons called life and career, the mother bent over a captive keyboard for job.  A nanny, on call, living out, ever present, vacuuming the castle always to shine, was focussed on leaving a tread in the carpet, hadn't noticed her charge, who had transformed into an escapee to her mother's home office.  Sneaking in, quietly, taking and absorbing every last detail.  Alas, the mother noticed the scamp in her midst.  The little joy did ask: "Mommy, what are you doing?"

Lest the mother cause disillusionment of the responsibility of working and career, she tenderly said:  "I am working.  When you grown up, you will likely work too.  What is it that you think you'll do too?

The predictable reply did unfold "why, when I am grown up, I will be a princess!" Said with such convincement, less mortal men or mothers would never argue.  However, the mother did sigh.  She then glanced around, realizing that the King was not home nor was the princess' guard on command.

She did try to dispell the disillusionment which chance had burst, said to her darling daughter with such thirst, for life, for dreams, goals and confidence:  "why Sweetie, you will be princess when I am a queen!"  Rationalizing that being realistic of drastic importance.

Then to her utter dismay her daughter did respond:  "Why mommy, I didn't know that you were a queen!!"

The days grew onwards and upward the girl grew, when tragedy did brew.  The media, the news, the television, no matter how one flew, protested the death of a princess many thought they knew.

When dinner one day, was being prepared by her mother.  As the news and the television broadcast the cover:  A princess died while so many fed .. on the photos, paparazzi with the princess photos they led.  How sad to have such a wonderful soul cut short, would end up causing this young four-year-old lady to retort:  "That is so sad to hear about the princess."

The mother, astonished, that this little girl wisdom, attuned to the news and the stories that bloomed.  She asked her daughter, in parenting skills on high alert, how do you feel about this story?  The daughter said "Sad".  The mother now curious, nowhere near mad.  Asked her little one why would she say so.  When the gem said "well, I am a princess, so this one I should know".

This is a reflection of a mother, rediscovering the journey she started with her daughter.  She has just turned 23, in second year of university, dedicated to  fine arts, art history and philanthropy.

A mother's pride never diminishes with age.  If anything, it flourishes as cheerleading captain of her daughter's journey.

Happy Birthday sweet, beautiful daughter O mine.

How Sean Penn is re-inventing himself

One can't help the past couple of days two headlines featuring Sean Penn, as an interview:  first with kingpin druglord and then squashed interview with ISIS Chief (as reported by The New Yorker):

HOLLYWOOD (The Borowitz Report)—Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the terror group known as ISIS, has cancelled a long awaited meeting with the actor Sean Penn, a spokesman for the group announced on Sunday.
The spokesman gave no reason for the abrupt cancellation, but said that al-Baghdadi no longer felt that meeting with Penn would be “prudent.”
A publicist for the film actor said that he was “disappointed” by the sudden termination of his appointment with the ISIS chief, and noted that Penn had gotten himself outfitted in brand new desert-camo attire in preparation for the meeting.
For his part, the ISIS spokesman said that al-Baghdadi hoped that Penn would harbor “no hard feelings” toward him, and emphasized that he remained an “enormous fan” of the actor.
“Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi loves all of Sean’s films, even that one he did with Madonna,” the spokesman said.
